In a prospective study with 35,016 postmenopausal women, ages 50 to 76 years, who were residents of western Washington State, revealed that current use of fish oil was associated with reduced risk of breast cancer by 32%. These results held for ductal but not lobular cancers. Researchers concluded that fish oil might be a potential candidate for chemoprevention studies
