Food is an essential part of human existence. Eating is often perceived as an act designed only to "refuel" the body with energy, described often in terms of calories and vitamins. Unfortunately this mindset might be detrimental to our health. Instead we should begin viewing food also as a way to preserve and enhance our health!
Let’s follow Hippocrates’ advice, "Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food!”
We eat to feed our bodies. We also eat to celebrate and socialize. But food can also be a disease fighting weapon. Scientific research highlights the powerful cancer-protective properties of many foods. Research indicates that a healthy diet can be very beneficial for people diagnosed with cancer, or those seeking to prevent cancer. 30% of cancer is a result of poor dietary habits! Many foods possess therapeutic properties similar to, or even better than, synthetic drugs. We can use these anticancer compounds that occur naturally in certain foods to prevent cancer as well as a complement to common cancer
